Virginia Master Naturalists (VMN) are volunteer educators, citizen scientists and stewards helping Virginia conserve and manage natural resources and public lands. Our Chapter serves Culpeper, Fauquier, Greene, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties.

Working in partnership with Friends of the Rappahannock, Old Rag members helped plant 50 trees and shrubs in the Rappahannock County Park. Come see the progress made to introduce native plants after removing invasive plant species. |
ORMN Receives VMN Mini-Grant for Envirothon Training
In April 2024, ORMN member, Alan Edmunds, received mini-grant funds from Virginia Master Naturalists to purchase educational materials for regional Envirothon events.
Each year, ORMN volunteers help train high school students attending regional Envirothon wildlife training sessions. We teach students how to identify a wide array of wildlife from examples they might find while studying in the field. Without these examples, students do not get the hands-on training they need to pass their exams. Alan will use the mini-grant money to purchase example kits of animal scat, tracks and bones that will teach students how to identify animals in the wild. ORMN In The News:
